cold & fun halloween night!

Miss B as Kitty, Miss M as Pirate Girl and Keira

What a day what a day.. And at the end of it all, Keira hugged us and said that she had a great time today. *melt*.

We started off the day doing something so exciting. Grocery shopping. lol. At our local grocery, they have a kid's club and give out free membership cards to kids. Keira has one and each time we buy our groceries, she can show her membership card at the courtesy counter and get a free 'surprise'. Usually a trinket. Today, a huge bag of halloween goodies and colouring stickers!

I must admit, I pulled an all nighter trying to get some work done (for the daytime job work) so I woke up, um.. yes, pretty late. Actually, Keira came into the room and started to kiss my face to wake me up. Pretty darn great way to wake up don't you think? So we were pretty rushed this morning to get the groceries done before her swimming lesson. We hadn't even bought our halloween candies until this morning! Today was also parent/kid swimming lesson and guess who got to swim with Keira? Yep, the Mister. There was a lot of laps that Keira had to do and we tried to get her to nap before the Halloween madness. She tried to get some zz's in but was too excited to sleep. We also had to compromise on the costume she was going to wear today because, as you could see from the previous post, it snowed here! And it was freezing. So, the Alice in Wonderland costume was out, so was the mermaid ones. Keira decided on the long-sleeved Tinkerbell costume. She had on a baselayer underneath that and topped it all off with her winter coat. So, you could barely make out the lime green outfit underneath. No matter.. she had fun nonetheless (and the hair! the wavy hair! that's all that mattered).

Keira and her Grandmaman..
Cousins

We made a pit stop to Grandmaman's house where Keira gave some candy to her little cousin, gave some hugs to Grandmaman and tante Loulou et Francine and got some coins for her Leucan box. Then we were off! Miss B met up with us at our place and we headed out to Miss M's place where we were quite a big group heading out to trick or treat in the 'hood. The Mister stayed behind to man the fort and give out candy. Let me tell you, c'était pas chaud ce soir! It wasn't warm tonight.. hoooey. We pretty much did almost every street around us and then, after saying goodbye to our friends.. we came back home.

Of course Keira dumped her 2 bags of loot all over the floor! She was pretty good though. She said she was going to eat only 5 candies and she did. Whew. Halloween is over.. now onto her birthday! Hope you all had a wonderful time tonight as well. What were the most popular costumes that you saw tonight?

Woh, it does look cold! I remember when it rained and every kid looked the same-- plastic ponchos over some kind of costume. Hehe! Sounds like you guys had fun. Yay!

Our sons didn't go too crazy with eating the candy, either. They seemed more excited about sorting it.

As for the most popular costumes, we definitely saw a few Marios and Luigis among the boys, and lots of little princesses!

Lia: Do you celebrate Halloween there? I don't remember. Oh.. we pretty much knocked on almost every door here. :D
Sheri: Yes! It was fr-fr-freezing! But the kids were complaining they were too hot but their hands too cold. lol. When the heck do you have time commenting and giving out candy AND watching football?!
Jessica: Same here! Tons of Mario & Luigi, princesses/fairies and pirates. Lol to the 'sorting' part. : )

I totally knew she was Tinkerbell even with the coat on. That lime green fairy dress! Such a beautiful dress.

It must have been cold because both you and Joyce have mentionned it. It was so warm here this year. So different from year to year. At least it didn't rain, right?

Aww, what a gorgeous Halloween! The teen and the toddler went trick-or-treating for the very first time and it was a great success. The whole neighbourhod was into it (that has NEVER happened before) so there were all sorts of fantastic costumes running around the streets.

And luckily (because he's still only two) the toddler came home, ate two lollies from his stash then said he wanted some milk. Nice :)

Next year you have to bring Keira to the Dix 30! (Although this year most stores had already ran out of candy an hour after it started - boo!)

Keira made a beautiful Tinkerbell. Love her costume. And is that a Unicef box around her neck? I haven't seen those in ages!

Halloween is so much fun! Keira and her friends look so cute. It was brrr, cold here as well - although no snow, thankfully. Sydney's Princess Jasmine was all layered up!

I'm so glad to hear everyone had a great time! I think halloween is less pressure and more fun than xmas.. cuz it sure looks like everyone enjoyed themselves. Awesome.

I know what you mean about Christmas being more pressure which it really shouldn't be right?!!! We went to so many family get togthers last year that we were all so stressed out and Evelette got a fever!
This year I think we are going to keep it low key!

Keira is absolutley adorable!

Luvs!
