Well, I think this is one of my saddest, whack-job bentos so far (along with the origami one). haha! Today's bento is a super retro Astro Boy! Or Tetsuwan Atom as he was originally named in Japanese. Keira has suddenly changed taste on tv and instead of being hooked on the Disney channel, she switched to the french language Retro Télétoons. So she's been loving watching old cartoons of Batman et Robin, Les Superhéros (Superheroes, remember the Wonder Twins??) and especially old episodes of the original Astro Boy. Or as he's called in french, Astro le robot.
So late last night, I decided to make her bento lunch so I could take it easy this morning. Yeah, not the most healthiest of lunches as I added a bonus snack here. Can you guess what it is? Yep! Sugar powdered mini donuts! Oh I'm a bad mommy. But Keira has been such a great lil gal lately. She even ate most of yesterday's lunch (despite all her grumblings of, "i don't like dat"s). She even ate all the apple slices! The only thing I found left in her lunchbox was the green pepper. Whoohoo!
If you're wondering who the round little dude with the sugared eyes is, you're not the only one. Keira saw the pic above and said, "who he??". lol. He's supposed to be Mr Squeegee, um, minus the squeegee! lol. So basically, this is Retro Astro Boy meets the future?
By the way, last night, Keira had a super meltdown and it was so hilarious and cute, Mr C and I could not stop laughing. Which in turn made Keira scream in place even louder (UUUURGH!! AAARGH!! GRRRRR!!) and made us laugh even harder. Oh my gosh, I shouldn't be writing about it but she was so darn cute. Usually I just want to chew my arms off when she has a 'crise' but last night was hilarious. She had an exciting day yesterday what with her best friend back in town and spending the evening at her house. So a meltdown wasn't unexpected. Wish I'd taken a video.. to show her when she's 16. haha!
